it sounds really difficult i think i prefer the old halo games i use to play with my uncle

I know Dreamz hatez me for thiz, but I don't Like Halo. At all.
It seems like a bunch of people running, Jumping and shooting... it seems like a floaty Timesplitters without the appeal... IT'S MY OPINION THE GAME DOES NOT SUCK OK?

I like Gears of War the most... More so than the COD games. That is the sole reason I want online.

what is GOW like online?

Im not a massive Halo Fanboy guys, seriously stop saying I am?
I dont even play Halo much anymore, The last time i played it would of been like 3 weeks ago, I play my other games now (like Fallout 3) much more now. Halo 3 is a great game with good online, and once you get into it, its much more than running, jumping and shooting (which these 3 elements are in EVERY FPS pretty much anyways) Its not meant to be like a call of duty or GOW. Its a sci-fi game based in the future about super powered soldiers taking on a powerful alien race, with vechicles and guns that dont resemble much on earth. Its the fact thats its not like any other games which make it unique. (That isnt me snapping back or anything thats just like common sense if you think about it)

surely Halo is just like these other games but with a futuristic template, and if this is so can any game be called unique?

Eurgh, you really dont understand what I meant atall.
Its the point that people compare games like Call of Duty and Halo together and argue about it and say one is better than the other. The reason any game is unique is that it has something that another game doesnt.

Give the developers some credit aswell, Halo isnt just based on a futuristic template. Its more than that, and bungie added loads of stuff to make it what it is. Its the point that in another game you'll end up trying to take out a 100 ft 4 legged Scarab what shoots plasma beams and pummels everything in its way, and is filled with enemies (once you manage to board it) with your onle weapon being yourself driving a tiny quadbike with an awkard AI on the back shooting rockets and missing. You have to take it into your own hand and board a docking crane get to the top, then disable the legs with 8 rocket shots then jumps off a 200 ft crane and land on this scarab battle the enemies and then get to the core and make it blow. Ive seen other games do this too, but way after bungie had the idea, thats why so many game become less unique is because other designers copy the idea.

Gears of war has you fight a Burmak (a giant I'ma kill with you my little beast) mutated and towering to about 500 stories tall in a helicopter with a satelitte laser beam to PWN it.

I haven't play Gears online. For I don't have it.

And Nyeh Gears to is different to the other shooters out at the moment.

It's third person (you can see your guy)

It uses cover, if you don't go into cover you will get downed, and curb stomped, or pummeled in the face, or have your skull cracked in, whatever floats their boat.

You can revive "down but not out" members of your team.
Flamethrower.
You can stick grenades on peoples backs and watch em go boom. And on walls and stuff. Boom fun.

It's 360 exclusive though Nyeh to NYEH!!

Considering Halo has been released first its not possible that it copied GOW. The Burmak thing isnt probably a rip off but maybe inspiered by the idea of;

There is something called Plasma or more commonly called sticky grenades in halo, which when throw at an enemy (and if it connects to them) will stick to them and the explode. The sticky grenade has been in Halo 2 and 3 (maybe 1?) so that is possible a stolen idea.

Where but sticky grenades have been implented way back to the old 007 games on N64...

Gears two doesn't "copy" Halo.
The character designs and monster designs are no where near similar, in my opinion anyway.
Only problem was mutated brumak was too easy -_-
It's fun riding them though... and the tanks.

I could say that Halo plagerizes the army and quadbikes and Jeep (The tank like objects etc.) but thats the kinda basis for every Sci-Fi shooter.

I'm not sure about the Halo story (Haven't experienced it much) but Gears of War two invovles a helluva lot of death. Tai (Awesome mega tough to kill Asian guy) kills himself, shoots himself in the face with a shortgun, as he has been tortured by the locust after being captured. He had REAL DEEP gashes all over his body, with giant rings digging into him, scraping further in every time he moved. Painful.

Oh and also Machine gun + Chainsaw = Lotta locust blood...

Besides there aren't sticky grenades at all in GOW, you just plant them on walls and people due to their chain and ball with spikes look.

Ive never said it was an exact copy, i meant that its easy for a designer to implement something from another game to thier own with a simple change of name and appearance

I.e all shooters (pretty much)

But if the graphics look the same, it comes down to the engine. Obviously Halo 3 doesn't use an old Xbox engine to power Halo. it may use it as a base, but the design behind is different.

This is what fixes bugs. GOW 1 and GOW2 use the same engine, only fixed up a bit and edited, as does the Halo games with it's predeccessors.

But who really gives a nuggets? Halo 3 and GOW are totally different. GOW has no kickass superhuman soldier and Halo doesn't have a hulking group of ordinary men who pump themselves up super huge with a crazy ass muscle training regime... GOW has a crazy black guy screaming swear words at a Locust queen through a megaphone While Halo has asuperhuman screaming bullets into aliens faces.

GOW is about survival... I think Halo is too (not sure)
Halo has betrayel (that covenant guy I think, was it betrayel?) GOW does not.

GOW focuses on the theme *Take cover or die horribly* and Halo has the bas of *Run 'n' gun( not in a bad way) and hide for a bit at times*
I know you can have *strategy* in Halo 3 campaign, but nearly as implemented as GOW. Mainly because they are TOTALLY DIFFERENT.
I won't name similarities or say who came up with what first becuase who cares? They're different and that's that.

The Elites were against the human untill they saw through the covenant and thier evil plot so sided with the humans to team up and kill the covenant forces. Or do you mean the Prophets? i.e prophet of truth, prophet of regret...it carries on.

Yeah were talking about Halo.
Its a matter of opinion, really. Id say maybe either Halo, Halo Wars and Fallout 3. There just my favourite game though atm.

Fallout 3 is good but sullen has banned me from playing since what happen to his game data well you know that story

I dunno dream, the guy who left the covenant and who I played as when we did co-op campaign round yours... Arbiter i think he was called?

My fav game at the moment is Tales of Vesperia.

the last 360 game i played was clash of the titans
which sucked i completed it in a day

You know COD? why do people really big it up when it doesn't have a lot of the features you would expect of most shooters? Customization, 20+ maps that kind of thing.

Yeah smoofy, you mean The Arbiter, he is leader of the elites, well there actually called the Sangheili, but that like hard to pronounce
I really like the look of Farcry 2, ive seen some really well put together custom built maps.

I see how you can mix this up with Halo.

And Sullen COD 4 and WAW does have custimization. But I don't know all that much about it so meh.

COD only has weapon customisation which IMO really sucks, how ould you get that mixed with halo?
